What is the maximum of a condominium association may charge a late fee unpaid condo fees?
An association condominium in Massachusetts is trying to collect 13 months worth of new condo fees of a property owned by Fannie Mae. They are charging $ 25 for month for each month a fee was too late. For example, in May 2010 charged over 11 months late at $ 25 per office at the end of the month, then in June 2010 is 10-month delay so charging 10-month delay (10 x $ 25), etc. Is this legal? If not, what is legal fee schedule? They can not afford a lawyer for 40% of units in foreclosure and owned by banks that are not equally pay the condominium fees. Please provide resources to your responses. Thanks!
